It is just about Sakura season here in Japan, I saw the buds on some cherry trees lining the street just beginning to flower. As long as the weather holds up this weekend the parks will be filled with happy revelers enjoying the spectacular view of the cherry blossoms. With the coming of spring the World Cosplay Summit event too will begin to heat up reaching its peak in the stifling heat of August.
I wanted to take the oppertunity to ask a couple of questions to everyone. In the past years we have had performances at WCS events in Japan. In 2005 Uchu Sentai NOIZ and Hironobu Kageyama (Singer of the Dragon Ball Z theme song) performed on stage. In 2006 Hiroshi Kitadani sang and at the preliminary round in Mexico Hironobu Kageyama made the trip to be a part of the show. My first question is "Who would you like to see perform at a WCS preliminary event near you or at the finals in Japan?
My second question is more blog related, we have been getting a lot of spam recently on the blog and I was wondering what you thought about having to write a special security code to prevent spam when writing a comment?
Looking forward to your response!

Hi!! Verena is turn back ^^
How are you Ed? Time is going so fast and WCS now is very near!
I answer to your questions!
1)if only singers of japanese anime will can perform, I would like to see HINOI TEAM *-* (since they sang "Ike Ike" of 100%Ichigo). But if there must will be only a singer, I prefer Gackt or Utada Hikaru. Isn't possible AYUMI HAMASAKI, right? >_ 2)I agree with your idea! A security code is better to prevent spam.
Thank you to ask us some opinions! =D
Bye bye ^^

I would like to see Jam Projects (various animes - Super Robot Wars, saint Seiya, etc). or nightmare (sang for deathnote's 1st opening and ending song, The world and alumina.)
And anti spam is a great idea so that only related stuff would be seen on the comments.

Ho Ho Ho!! XDDD
I want to answer your question Edo-kun.... It was not my plan to make a trip to Japan this summer but, I tell you for sure that if Laruku or any Johnny group come to WCS I will be there for sure XDDD
Ne, being seroius.... :P When you've asked that, what kind of groups or singers are you talking about? I mean, lots of famous groups make songs for anime and image films so, there are also the singers like Hironobu Kageyama or Akira Kushida, or the guy that sings the "One Piece" first opening, that only make songs for anime or videogames, only work for that.
I'm sure it would be no problem if you are talking about the second group of singers, 'cause it's their job and they use to do events and concerts all for the fans of any anime in the same line of the WCS. But if you are talking about the first group... I think it will be really difficult to bring important and great groups like L'Arc~en~Ciel, who has made a new song "SHINE" for the new anime "Seirei no Moribito", for example... but, maybe it's possible for some groups like Nightmare (they made a song for Death Note), etc... It would be great to see Takanori-kun performing "INNOCENT SORROW" with his new group band, Abingdon Boys School :P
....
....
XDDDDD
Can I be more talkative? XD You have touch my favorite stuff... the music!! *^.^* I will wait the news about the performances at this year's WCS!! *^.^*
About the spam, any idea to prevent the spam it would be good *^.^*
Neee, I hope to have the chance in a future to see the sakura trees in flower *.*
Kisses and huges from Spain :**

Thanks everyone for your responses, this is something that I think is really important to get feedback on. Getting performers who do a lot of anime/manga related theme songs or present themselves in an anime/manga way (ie dress in costumes, characters on stage etc.) are definate possibilities for WCS preliminary events or the finals. Groups like Utada Hikaru or L'Arc en Ciel are also very popular and we would love to have them but are probably unrealistic because they would demand crowds of between 20,000-50,000 fans in Japan. Sharing the stage with another event would also make for logistic challenges for both sides as well. Thanks for the ideas though! Keep them coming, they will be referred to when we look for performances!
Thanks for the opinions on security issues also, spam is an issue for most blogs and e-mail addresses nowadays.

Hi Ed,
About spam I think that security codes are fine.
About music, there`s something to be thought about, that is the Band X Singer question.
Band demands some equipments that are very troublesome to carry around, considering that the Cosplayers need a lot of space to perform, that maybe a problem.
Singers on the other hand can do their show on less space, so I think that would be the easier choice.
JAM Project is always a good choice, but maybe WCS could try others like Nana Kitade, the Gothic Lolita Princess?
cheers

Ops, sorry about the double post above, please erase the last one.
I forgot to mencion that Nana Kitade sang "Kesenai Tsumi" which was the ending theme for "Hagane no renkinjutsu" and "Kibou no kakera" which is the opening song for "Demashita! Power Puff Girls Z".

AAAAAAAAAH i saw this entry so late ;__;
good question Ed!!
for me, Koda Kumi would be a dream to hear in live :_____:~
her performances in "Cutey Honey" (Cutey Honey Live), "Crazy 4 U" (Gilgamesh - Gilxx), "Real Emotion" / "1000 no Kotoba" (Final Fantasy X-2), for me, put her on the top of mind!
also, ALI Project! who make the overtures for Rozen Maiden, Code Geass, .Hack//Roots
dunno, my humble *and late* opinion ^^~
