A terrible thing happened yesterday in Akihabara. A man tired of life drove a truck into the pedestrian area and began indiscriminately attacking people with a knife. Akihabara is a place that holds dreams and memories for many. We go there every year with the WCS, we have eaten sushi at the corner where the attack occurred, we have assembled and stayed at the hotel down the street. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

I just read the news, such an terrible event on the place that is well know for our hobby, now some media publishes that the man was a fan of anime and manga, not sure where they got that information and many will use this to attack the fans of anime and so.

Yes, its too bad how the news machine keeps turning though, what is news last week is gone this week. It was the bravest attack of its kind in recent months and has affected peoples perceptions of social violence however.
