Into its 8th year the ChinaJoy event seems quite a big deal in Shanghai right now. At a news stand I saw a paper with cosplay from the event on the front page.
Interestingly if you can see in the caption at the bottom of the picture there is a caption in Chinese with the word "cosplay" visible in romanized characters. They do not have Chinese characters for cosplay yet.
