Mexico Regionals - Veracon

Mexico's ambitious series of regionals continued on the 10th of December with the 6th installment held at Veracon. The event took place in the port city of Veracruz and the winners were Xochiquetzal Atilano and Miguel Angel Velasco who performed from Howl's Moving Castle.

With a population of almost 8 million, Veracruz is the 3rd largest city in Mexico. Known as having been the center of Olmec culture 3500 years ago, Veracruz is also famous for being the landing point for Hernán Cortés in his conquest of the Aztecs in 1519. It lies on the east coast and with a distance of 425 kilometers it is relatively close to Mexico City .
