| Many are already familiar
with the Japanese comic book genre known as `Manga`.
It has gained a strong following from Europe to North
America and throughout Asia. In each of these areas
manga themed events have been staged, and attended by
10`s of thousands of fans. These gatherings often encompass
various categories from Japanese `Anime` to comic trading
but what often attracts great attention are the `costume
players`. These manga lovers take their affection to
another level by attending wearing the costumes of their
favorite characters. Last year
the inaugural `2003 1st Annual Cosplay Summit” was
held on the 12th of October. The cosplayers, including
5 from Italy, Germany and France were covered by a
variety of both national and international newspapers
and magazines.
Once again, cosplayers from
around the world will assemble in Japan!
This years event will be on an even larger scale that
the very successful “World Cosplay Summit 2003”
Not only will representatives from the European countries
of Italy, Germany and France be present, this year
cosplayers from the United States will also be in
attendance.
In total 8 international participants will participate.
The “2nd Annual
Cosplay Summit 2004” will coincide with the
traditional `Osu Festival` in Nagoya, Japan
which takes place on August
1st.
