kind of a place is Osu?
Osu is a microcosm of Japanese
traditional culture. It is a town overflowing
with a universal atmosphere; a digital Mecca
containing a vast array of electronic shops.
On top of that, it is filled with historical
Buddhist shrines epitomized by the impressive
‘Osu Kannon’. There are all together over 1700
meters of arcaded streets and about 1000 shops
filed along them. With something for people
of all ages, this is a place overflowing with
vitality.
What is Osu festival?
This is a festival which is celebrated
every year here in summer. The main event are
the parades which wind through the streets.
With drums and brass bands as well as the ‘Samba
Parade’ there are plenty of things to see. One
addition to the parades this year will be the
‘Cosplay Parade’. This will be held by cosplayers
from around Japan and led by cosplayers invited
from around the world. |
