Aichi Television Broadcating CO.,LTD is pleased to announce it is planning to hold the 4th Annual World Cosplay Summit. Cosplayers from more than 8 countries around the world (including Japan) will be invited to Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture to take part in the World Cosplay Championship to decide the "World Number 1 Cosplayer".

Date&Place:August 5th 2006(Sat) The Cosplayer Parade
Place/Osu summer festival site(Osu commercial district)
August 6th 2006(Sun) The World Cosplay Championship

Countries(Planned): Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Singapore, China, Thailand, Brazil, Japan.
●Participating cosplayers from each country will take part in teams of 2 people
Scheduled Events: 1) Parade and stage event during the Osu Kannon festival
2) World Cosplay championship
3) Mixer event




The collaboration regional organizer of each country collects the cosplayers wishing WCS2006 participation.
*TVA entrust the regional organizer the candidate collection process.
(For example:Contest or the photograph session in the event hall, Web collection)
5 groups (10 cosplayers) from each country are first selected as regional candidates by the event and regional organizer.
1 group is selected from 5 regional candidates as the representative.

(For example:The contest or popular vote in the event hall, web vote)
 


Those who will take part in "WCS2006" are required to comply with the following conditions:
  1. Wear a costume that conforms to the concept of the event. (Japanese manga, animation or video game characters)
  2. Costumes should be home made. Prefabricated costumes are not permitted.
    Prefabricated accessories or parts may be used with a homemade costume, oppositely prefabricated items may be used if they have been altered sufficiently by the maker.
  3. Participants should be 18 or older. 
    -if the prospective participant is under the age of 18 they will need the written approval of a guardian to travel to Japan on their own.
  4. Prospective participants should be are able to come to Japan for one week from about the end of July to the beginning of August.

  5. In order to properly promote the event, TVA asks that all material requested related to WCS2006 be sent in an expedient manner.
  6. One of the major reasons for holding the event is to give all participants an oppertunity to meet and mix with people who share the same interests from around the world. In this spirit, you are expected to act as a representative of your country and make attempts to become close to or at least opperate effectively with representatives from other countries. For the event to be a success you will also need to co-operate with the Terebi Aichi staff, this is an essential prerequisite for your participation.
