Osu Cosplay Parade Report

Summer this year was really hot! This is the full report for the World Cosplay Summit 2007, including the Osu Cosplay Parade and the World Cosplay Championship.
August 4 (Sat) Osu Cosplay Parade (Osu Summer Festival)
The World Cosplay Summit staff who went into TV Aichi to make preparations saw a dense crowd of people gathered in front of the main entrance of TV Aichi. Every year there are people lining up early to get to the changing rooms, but this year more cosplayers than we had expected gathered at TV Aichi.
The changing rooms opened at 2pm. 100 ‘Guidance’ documents had been prepared, but as expected there weren’t enough and more had to be quickly printed.
In the end, around 150 cosplayers gathered for the parade.
Outside TV Aichi, it was like this;   and then 2 hours later, like this!

And the cosplayers from each country were……..
Each country’s representative cosplayers were already waiting at the starting point of the parade (in front of Osu Kannon). Cosplayers who finished changing clothes at TV Aichi went straight to the starting point without lining up. The parade was already starting here…….

Each country’s representative cosplayers had a rest, and they were very friendly with each other, taking many photos.

After this rest, a commemorative photo with Osu Kannon in the background was taken. There were loads of people trying to take photos in the grounds. It was crazy.

“Team Italy!” ”Team Germany!” The cosplayers appeared as each country was called. It became like a fashion show. 28 people from 12 countries got together for a group photo. Everyone looked so cool.

Actually, a mini stage performance had been planned within the grounds, but unfortunately it suddenly started to rain! This wasn’t just a scattered shower but a really heavy rain, and the stage event had to be discontinued. All the cosplayers and members of the general public got absolutely soaked to the skin. Sorry!! We had this final event planned, but anyway this year’s parade was really buzzing! Many thanks!
