| [1] | Each country will be represented by one group to consist of two cosplayers. |

| [2] | The costumes must be from Japanese anime and manga.
*At the preliminary competitions, costumes from Japanese video games are permitted. |
| [3] | Costumes are to be hand made. Pre-made costumes are not allowed.
*It is preferable that costumes are hand-made by the contestants themselves, but it is permissible for family and friends to help. |
| [4] | Team costumes at the cosplay championships are to be characters from within the same anime or manga.

| [5] | Participants must be 18 years and older.
* It is possible for those under 18 years of age to participate, but permission from a guardian must be obtained. |
| [6] | The representative cosplayers who are chosen are to cooperate in a positive manner at the World Cosplay Summit 2008 (Parade, Championship, media and other events). |
| [7] | Image rights in all media exposure such as news gathering from TV programs and other assorted media involved with the World Cosplay Summit, promotional activities in the print media as well as events and performances, announcements both prior to and during the period of the Cosplay Summit, will be attributed to TV Aichi. After the World Cosplay Summit has finished, images/footage of cosplayers, photographs, programs to be broadcast, internet homepages and DVDs etc, come under the jurisdiction of TV Aichi. In so doing, compensation will not be furnished. |
| [8] | The World Cosplay Summit is a friendly international exchange event through Japanese pop culture and an event where cosplayers from many countries around the world gather. We ask for your active cooperation in understanding the purpose of the event and in making the 2008 World Cosplay Summit a success. |
