Brazil - 4th Preliminary Round Report

Anima Pop reveals the 4th WCS Brazil's finalist double

The event in Goias state presented not only a good WCS Brazil selective, but also high level music numbers.
The anime event AnimaPop revealed the 5th finalist double of WCS 2009 - JBC Brazil Stage, on December 14, in the city of Goiania (Goias state). Nathalia Lelis Thome de Moura and Leandro Cardoso Jacome stood out, with the characters Irenes and Serge, from game Chronos Cross, for Playstation. It is the fourth consecutive year that Nathalia makes it to the final. Her partner, Leandro gets that far for the first time. Both live in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais (Nathalia in Caeta city and Leandro in Belo Horizonte), so they had to make an 18 hour journey in order to get to the championship.
Alexandre Cesar and Julio Pereira, inspired on the Fullmetal Alchemist anime, got the second place. One of the six doubles was desqualified for having infringed one of the tournament rules.
Besides the cosplays, many other attractions rocked out the day. The great highlight was the Japanese band Psychic Lover, that plays the theme of Yu-Gi Oh and Transformers: Armada. The bands Massacration, Tuath de Danann, Fake Number, Cueio Limao and Banda Mai also put their feet on stage. Massacration's presentation had even a special appearence by Santa Claus on guitars.
Dubbers Flavio Dias and Elcio Sodre, such as the researcher Celia Sakurai (author of the book "Os Japoneses" (The Japanese), participated as debaters.
