FanimeCon
FanimeCon is an annual anime convention held in San Jose, CA during the Memorial Day weekend. Run by the Anime Resource Group (ARG), it is the largest anime convention in Northern California and one of the ten largest anime conventions in North America. FanimeCon was first held on June 19, 1994, when several anime clubs came together to share their passion for anime. It features such events as the cosplay masquerade competition, anime music video contest, tabletop gaming, video gaming, karaoke, game shows, comedy panels, maid cafe, dances, musical performances, round-the-clock video programming, and numerous fan-run and industry panels with guests of honor. There is a full dealers hall and swap meet as well as a large artist alley to buy, browse, or to just mingle. This is a by fans, for the fans convention.
