JAM Project
JAM Project・・・JAPAN ANIMATIONSONG MAKERS
Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui, Yoshiki Fukuyama
The 'JAM (Japan Animation song Makers) Project' is a 'super unit' of talented singers from the anime world, started in 2000. The singers stated:"Although there have been some cases of hit songs, with big artist tie-ups, the worldwide success of Japanese anime deserves more inspirational theme songs with can rival the power of famous characters such as Mazinger Z or Monkey. It is the mission of the JAM project to create powerful music in the mould of the great anime legends."
Although there are plenty of anime songs out there, the JAM project are intent on improving the genre with their individual style and are determined to create some mega-hit songs. Believing that the key to success lies in the power of the voice, their strength lies in a passion for anime songs making their work more unique and powerful than that of ordinary singers.
The JAM project theme songs are collaborative in that the singers work on the song writing process with musicians, producers and directors, aiming to create a 'work of art'. Working as unique individuals under the umbrella of the project, JAM members have made over 100 songs, all of which convey a powerful spirit!
In 2008, project members took part in a live tour of Japan and then the world, taking in 10 cities in 8 different countries including South Korea, China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong), Mexico, France and Spain. This is proof that animation songs have the power to cross geographic and musical boundaries. Just like main anime characters, JAM project singers are aiming to have the power to make dreams come true!
