Title

Role of cosplay in the manga and anime industry.
The past two symposiums focused mainly on the culture of cosplay. However, it is impossible to separate cosplay from the culture of manga, anime and games. The panelists of the third symposium will consider what the industry can do for cosplay, what cosplay can do and how cosplay can contribute to the industry.

01:What content holders can do for cosplay
Yamamoto Sayaka

Conami Digital Entertainment, Kojima Production publicist. Many characters appearing in Kojima Production works are cosplayed in magazines, movies and live broadcasts. Served as a judge at the Metal Gear Solid Cosplay Camp sponsored by her company at the Tokyo Game Show 2010.


02:A source of information for Cosplayers
Daimon Taro

Editor. Managing editor of the magazine Cosmode. Founded the character cosplay magazine COSMODE in 2002. Participated in the first World Cosplay Summit the following year. Was the first to notice the popularity of cosplay abroad and the Chinese edition of COSMODE was published in 2005. COSMODE USA began publication in American and Canada and participated in the Japan Expo in Paris in 2007.
COSMODE Thailand has been in print since 2010 and the fifth issue is due out soon. Their sister magazine COSnap! is published in July. Working from the standpoint of magazine media to broaden the enjoyment of cosplay not only for the experienced cosplayers but also the beginners. Chairman of the Japan Maid Association.


03:Global interchange using cosplay
Patrick W. Galbraith

Born in Alaska America in 1982. First visited Japan in 2004 as an exchange student in 2004. Later became a graduate student in Japan and sponsored the Akibahara Tour since 2007. Published The Otaku Encyclopedia in 2009. While continuing as a writer he is also working on his Doctorate studying otaku at The University of Tokyo Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies.


04:What cosplayers can do
Jacky Dosai

Area manager for American Cosplay.com, Official Rule Director for the World Cosplay Summit, COSMODE supervisor, Cosplay Team Japan manager, Prayers from Cosplayers representative, advisor to Tokyo Game show Cosplay promotion group. An active cosplayer since 1995 to present. First participated in overseas events individually in 1999 and has since participated in over 100 such events overseas. Looks at cultural exchanges from the cosplayers point of view.
